New Women-Only Trips for 2015 Range from Glamping in Montana to Fishing for Piranhas in the Amazon

BOZEMAN, MT. – Whether it’s tracking endangered black rhinos on foot in Namibia or following in the footsteps of Lewis & Clark in Montana with the modern twist of glamping, women can travel around the world with AdventureWomen on eight new adventure vacations for women in 2015. The company, which specializes in solo travel for women older than 30 who want to travel in the company of other like-minded individuals, will offer brand new adventure vacations to Brazil, Slovenia, France, Costa Rica and Namibia, as well as California, Montana, and Utah in the U.S.

AdventureWomen will also offer several of the company’s most popular classic trips again for 2015, including their Montana Downhill Ski Clinic, Alaska Bear Viewing & Safari and Nepal Trekking in the Himalayas.

New trips for 2015 include:

The Wonders of Brazil – Aug. 4-16, 2015, $6895/person

This adventure vacation to the host country of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 summer Olympics focuses on Rio de Janeiro, the Amazon River and UNESCO World Heritage Site Iguazu Falls known for its more than 250 waterfalls. Women will cruise the Amazon in a deluxe riverboat and take guided jungle walks, canoeing and fishing for piranhas. At Iguazu Falls, travelers will take a special boat to the bottom of the falls and enjoy private access to the falls and its suspended bridges. In Rio de Janeiro, guests will stop at Copacabana Beach, see the Christ the Redeemer statue, hike to the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain, partake in bird watching and have the option to try stand up paddle boarding, yoga on the beach and take a bike tour of Ipanema.

Hiking Slovenia: Europe’s Hidden Treasure – Sept. 17-25, 2015, $4295/person

Similar to Croatia, which is frequently touted as a European hotspot, Slovenia, known as “Europe in miniature” is a largely uncrowded and hidden alpine gem. Travelers will hike through the tiny, but beautiful country near the border of Italy and Austria past the Julian Alps, limestone gorges, a glacial-fed river, glacial lakes, waterfalls, charming villages and more.

Lewis & Clark Canoeing and GlampingSept. 6-12, 2015, $2995/person

Follow the path of American adventurers Lewis & Clark in replicas of their canoes, but spend overnights in a more luxurious-style camp than afforded the explorers. Women will paddle down the Missouri River toward its headwaters in Montana for five days as they pass white sandstone cliffs, the Missouri River Breaks and see views that are nearly unchanged from the early 1800s. In the evenings, stay in private camps with a kitchen, 2-person tents with cots and self-inflating sleeping pads and more.

California Gold – Oct. 3-10, 2015, $4395/person

Women discover California’s riches both past and present on this trip to some of the state’s hottest spots. Not only will women retrace the routes of the California gold rush, they will kayak Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe, visit wine country during harvest season, take an optional balloon ride over vineyards, hike past redwoods, watch cooking demonstrations and sail in San Francisco Bay.

Cruise France by Barge in Southern Burgundy – Sept. 25-Oct. 2, 2015, $4395/person

This canal cruise ventures to the quieter, more relaxed side of the country in the southern Burgundy region. Women can choose to ride the boat or walk or bike along the towpath between locks with plenty of time to stop and explore the countryside, vineyards, historical sites and numerous villages. The luxury barge offers gourmet meals by French chefs, air conditioning, a sundeck wreathed in flowers and the chance to drink 22 French wines. (Wine is included with lunches and dinners, so how can that be said?)

Best of Costa Rica’s National Parks – April 16-25, 2015, $4695/person

An adventure vacation that takes women through a variety of geography all in one country that’s just a 3 ½-hour flight from Houston, the Best of Costa Rica’s National Parks trip includes zip lining, a nature safari, hiking, snorkeling, whitewater rafting and more. Guests travel to Arenal Volcano, the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, the Osa Peninsula and Cano Island.

Namibia Safari in Southern Africa – April 23-May 5, 2015, $8095/person

Via three private plane sight-seeing flights, travelers can view this vast and diverse landscape from above, as well as wildlife by 4X4 vehicles and trek endangered black rhinos on foot. Sites include apricot-hued sand dunes, the Skeleton Coast and the Namib desert. Women will also visit the Cheetah Conservation Fund to learn about the efforts to protect the endangered cat and spend overnights in luxurious tented camps.

Hiking & Rafting Southeast Utah – Oct. 4-10, 2015, $3195

This trip to southeast Utah takes women on a wild west adventure that includes lots of hiking and whitewater rafting. With a home base in Moab, Utah, women will explore several of the national parks in the canyon lands and stop at the site of the famous ending scene from “Thelma & Louise.” They will take a two-day rafting trip down the Colorado River past several well-known rapids and end the trip with an evening Colorado River dinner cruise.

“2015 promises new and exotic adventures to lands we have not yet explored,” says AdventureWomen founder and owner Susan Eckert. Eckert says that the new trips to Brazil, Namibia and Costa Rica have seen the most bookings and interest so far. “But everything else is generating lots of interest too. We are very excited about our 2015 roster of trips, and so are our clients!”
