Award-winning Women’s Adventure Travel Outfitter Showcases New Destinations

BOZEMAN, Mont.— AdventureWomen, the longest running adventure travel company for active women over 30, is announcing eight new custom-made women’s adventure vacations for the 2014 season. Outfitting one of National Geographic Traveler’s 50 Tours of a Lifetime in 2013, AdventureWomen provides high-value, experiential tours for independent women who want a safe way to travel solo while making new life-long friends.

AdventureWomen’s eight new 2014 itineraries feature a few new destinations and bring back old favorites with new itineraries.

No river on earth plays a more important cultural, economic or social role in the lives of more people than the Ganges River in India. The spiritual heart of the Hindu religion, the banks of the Ganges are strewn with India’s fascinating cities, culturally-important pilgrimage sites, charming villages, mountains and magical forests. AdventureWomen cruises the Ganges River aboard the Bengal Ganga, built in the style of the historic Clyde steamers and the first river boat to ply the Ganges-Hooghly Waterway between Kolkata and Varanasi, India in over 100 years. Hiking in Provence, 9 days

AdventureWomen’s walking tour in Provence, France leads travelers through this exquisitely colorful spring landscape and discover sensual Provence along its footpaths, past perched villages painted in pastel pinks, blues and greens, and pause in shaded cafes. The scenic walks will take women through vineyards and pine forests – along trails which have served for centuries – taking time to picnic on olives, goat cheese, tomatoes and strawberries. AdventureWomen accommodates their travelers in beautiful historic hotels and highlights the most scenic and cultural attractions throughout three distinct regions of Provence. Boasting the greatest concentration of migrating game found anywhere in the world, Northern Tanzania and Southern Kenya make for a once-in-a-lifetime AdventureWomen itinerary. Women stay in private tented camps that allow them to become an intimate part of the environment, and to experience Africa in an extraordinary, personal, and immediate way. Travelers visit Olduvai Gorge and explore the Ngorongoro Crater (often compared to the Garden of Eden), and can elect to take a hot air balloon safari. AdventureWomen also offers an in-depth cultural experience taking guests to a 12,000-acre nature refuge deep in the eastern Serengeti ecosystem to get to know the trail-blazing members of the Enyuata Women’s Collaborative. Hiking in colorful and awe-inspiring Southwest Utah is an experience that has to be seen and savored to be believed. A land of enchantment with spires, hoodoos, red rock canyons, high plateaus, and exhilarating views, Utah has some of the most phenomenal natural scenery on earth. AdventureWomen’s weeklong tour through the southwest explores Bryce National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Travelers learn about spectacular geology and the vast assortment of plant and animal life, all the while staying at a remote, charming guest ranch in Boulder and in Bryce Canyon. Bhutan, “Land of the Thunder Dragon,” had a cautious approach to tourism in the past, but has recently opened its doors wider. AdventureWomen is fortunate to have the opportunity to explore this peaceful nation on a customized 12-day adventure immersed in the culture, history, and Buddhist practices of the country. Travelers visit the Bhutanese people in their traditional pastoral hamlets, where they live much the same as they always have. Women walk to traditional monasteries and awesome dzongs—originally built as fortresses during the Middle Ages—which today function as the center of both religious and secular activities. From the colorful, patterned weavings of Thimphu, to dramatic sweeping vistas of the snow-capped Himalayas, our adventure celebrates the breathtaking beauty of this peaceful realm. Walking Holiday Scotland, 10 days

This walking holiday hikes take AdventureWomen travelers on an exploration of three of Scotland’s distinct regions:  Central Perthshire, the Western Highlands, and the Inner Hebrides Islands. Boasting the largest wilderness area remaining in the U.K. and in Europe, Scotland provides an irresistible mix of highlands and lowlands, rugged seascapes and tranquil lochs, mountain passes and gentle glens. Accompanied by a knowledgeable Scottish naturalist-guide, travelers hike and experience first-hand the history and culture of the self-reliant Scots. Nature of Israel, 14 days

Beyond visiting the major cultural and spiritual sites of this standout destination, AdventureWomen travelers delve a little deeper into Israel’s historic and biblical landscapes to experience its natural beauty from Hai Bar Park, known as “Little Switzerland”, to Tel Dan Nature Reserve which blends archaeological findings in a lush backdrop teeming with animals. They’ll visit stunning Bahai Gardens, a nature trek at Ein Gedi and float on the Dead Sea. The trip ends in Eilat on the shores of the Red Sea for birding, swimming, sailing and relaxing. Departs Sept. 8, $5995 per person.

The Best of Chile and Easter Island, 11 days

AdventureWomen has carefully crafted this itinerary to give travelers a truly authentic experience in Chile by exploring three vastly different regions. Women hike through the Colchagua wine region just outside Santiago and at the base of the Andes, explore the Atacama Desert in northern Chile, and then fly 2,100 miles from Chile’s west coast to Easter Island to absorb the fascinating cultural and natural history of one of the most iconic landmarks in the world.
