10 Questions with Ronna W., AdventureWomen Guest and Adventurer at Heart

What’s something that no one would guess about you?

I had a 25-year career in law enforcement beginning as a police officer and ending as a corrections lieutenant with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

When did you start traveling with AdventureWomen?

2018

Why did you choose AdventureWomen?

I went online and Google searched “women travel groups” hoping to find exceptional travel groups for women. I liked what I read about AdventureWomen….travel to diverse locations, diversity of adventure from high energy to easy, use of knowledgeable and personable local people as guides, carefully created itineraries, local culture is experienced not just observed, small group travel accompanied with an AdventureWomen Ambassador, and the opportunity to challenge myself and enrich my life.

How many trips have you been on?

Four. Switzerland, Canada (Bay of Fundy), Montana (Yellowstone), and Antarctica.

What was your favorite trip and why?

That’s a difficult question to answer!  Every place I have traveled to has been unique in its beauty, magic, and awesomeness. I loved every place I have traveled to.

If you could be doing anything, anywhere right now, what and where would it be?

Sitting in a comfortable chair outside my cabin, located by a flowing river amongst lots of trees, sipping hot tea on an autumn day, enjoying the early morning, with my dog by my side. After finishing my tea, I’m off hiking in the mountains amongst the trees.

What’s one thing you’ve had to overcome in your life?

Being a perfectionist.

What’s the most important thing to you?

A healthy me so I can continue to live a joyful life and be available for my family and friends.

If you could describe AdventureWomen in ONE word, what would it be?

Connect  (AdventureWomen allows me to connect…..to the places I travel….to local cultures I experience….to wildlife and nature I’m immersed in….to travel mates I become friends with….to challenges and fears I face and overcome).

Anything else you’d like to share with the AdventureWomen community?

At heart I am an adventurer, lover of curiosity, and look to overcome obstacles. Life is fragile. Don’t wait to do what brings you joy. Be curious. Have courage. Take risks. Seek adventure.
