Experience the splendor of the Himalayas on a challenging but low-altitude trekking tour with rafting and wildlife safaris in the fall of 2019, a unique opportunity to experience Nepal’s most magnificent sights!
Head to Pokhara in Western Nepal to begin trekking beneath the sharp peaks and vertiginous valleys of the Annapurna Mountains. You and your fellow adventurers will set out along the ridgeline of the lower foothills, trekking to around 7,500 feet before dropping into the beautiful Modi River Valley. Get to know one another on an easy walk through the lush valley farmlands of Nepal. Soon, you’ll be starting your challenging full-day climb past terraced rice fields, thick forests, and picturesque hamlets on your way to Ghandruk. This mountain village offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Snap pictures with a friend, or join some of your fellow travelers to visit the women of the town, who weave traditional Nepalese rugs.
A long, gentle hike to Birethanti offers breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayas. An optional guided hike to a nearby waterfall gives a glimpse of another of Nepal’s wonders. Wander through beautiful landscaped gardens in town while you bond with one of the adventurous women on your journey. Cross a swaying cable bridge and trek up a series of paved steps and switchbacks on your way to picturesque Majgaun. Your final trekking day brings you back to Pokhara. Enjoy the views of serene mountain lakes, or wander the market. Tomorrow, your adventure moves to the water!
Raft down the pristine Seti River. Two small rapids will get your heart racing, but here, the gentle waters easily allow you to watch pastoral villages and stunning scenery float by. Beautiful riverside tree houses offer a chance to relax or chat with a friend, with stunning views in every direction. Hike to one of the nearby local villages to see Nepalese culture truly untouched by tourism.
Our Nepal rafting tour continues as we float down to Chitwan National Park where you’ll cap off your adventure in Nepal with a spectacular two-day wildlife safari! This remote jungle is the thriving habitat for rare, wondrous animals like the greater one-horned rhinoceros, and a variety of monkey, deer, crocodile species, and the rare, elusive Royal Bengal tiger. The wonders of nature surround you in this lush untouched forested gem. End your journey in Kathmandu, where you’ll have a chance to explore the city or “flightsee” Everest’s infamous peak.
