Discover the joy of getting active together on a mother-daughter adventure in Baja, Mexico and the Sea of Cortez! Have fun together as you horseback ride, kayak, surf, snorkel and swim with sea lions, and enjoy Mexican cooking classes. Camp under the stars! This is the AdventureWomen way, where a bit of pampering and some big adventures combine to create wonderful moments with your daughter and in the company of other mothers enjoying quality time with their daughters!

Arriving at Los Colibris Casitas in Todos Santos, Mexico, take in incredible ocean views then go explore the resort’s terraced landscapes, pools, and quiet spaces reaching down to the sea. In the evening, celebrate the flavors of Baja with an spectacular welcome dinner as you meet and get to know the other mothers and daughters in your group.

For big fun, head to the beaches of Baja the next day for expert surfing lessons with our talented surfing instructors on Playa Los Cerritos, one of the best surf breaks in Baja. Surfing may become your new favorite sport! And even if not, you’ll have some great “money shots” to laugh over later with your fellow Adventure Women.

Motor out the next day to Isla Espiritu Santo in the Sea of Cortez. During our three-night stay, this island is exclusively yours for a private luxury camping experience and opportunities to try new water sports. Don’t be shy! Try hiking the cliffs, learn to kayak in the clear waters of this protected bay, and master the stand-up paddle board, then wind down at night counting the millions of stars that swirl overhead. For a truly magical experience, go swimming with the island’s inquisitive sea lions. You may even have a nose-to-nose encounter with a new friend!

Upon your return to Todos Santos, enjoy some time walking and shopping in the historic section of the village. Cap your final evening with a Mexican cooking class creating the dishes that will become your farewell dinner!

Over a final Baja sunset and your group’s evening meal, swap stories and recall favorite moments on this memorable mother-daughter adventure. You’ll both realize that this was the best possible recipe for quality time and making memories.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Wednesday, March 18 – Arrive in Todos Santos
You will be picked up at the San Jose del Cabo airport by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

You will receive specific instructions on the exact meeting location about a month prior to your trip. The Cabo airport is very busy, but AdventureWomen will make sure you know where you’re going!

Enjoy a welcome dinner this evening and get to know your AdventureWomen group!

Day 2

Thursday, March 19 – Todos Santos
Todos Santos has 70 miles of pristine beach. Take in the beauty of a Baja landscape on horseback.

Take a surfing lesson today. No experience? No problem! Your instructors guarantee that you will stand up—at least for a moment—during your very first lesson!

Enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3

Friday, March 20 – Todos Santos to Isla Espiritu Santo
Drive to La Paz, where you will get on a boat for your 90-minute ride to your exclusive camp on the beach. Wear your bathing suit this morning, just in case there is a chance to swim along the way!

Spend your afternoon kayaking or stand up paddle boarding exploring hidden lagoons and desert beaches. Enjoy the sunset with your group!

Day 4

Saturday, March 21 – Isla Espiritu Santo
Swimming with sea lions is magical, with unforgettable nose-to-nose encounters. Grab some snorkel gear provided and jump in with them.

Enjoy a dinner from the camp kitchen and a relaxing night on the beach.

Day 5

Sunday, March 22 – Isla Espiritu Santo
This 1-2 hour hike gets you out on the island to learn about the local flora and fauna on foot. Wear closed-toed shoes – there are cacti around!

Decide how you want to explore the sea just off of the coast of Isla Espiritu Santo. Talk to your guides to take out a paddle board, throw on some snorkeling gear, or jump into a kayak. There’s no wrong answer; this water has a way of never disappointing.

Day 6

Monday, March 23 – Isla Espiritu Santo to Todos Santos
Leave your beautiful camp and head back to Todos Santos.

Tour the historic parts of Todos Santos. Visit local art galleries and do some last-minute shopping.

Take a Mexican cooking class this evening. Start by learning to make the perfect margarita. Make sure you pay attention as you learn from the chef – you are making your own dinner! Reminisce over all of the memories you have made and celebrate the end of an incredible trip in Baja.

Note: The recent trend in travel is for travelers to finalize their plans much closer to departure time than was customary in the past. While we try to be as flexible as possible booking last-minute registrants, we must release hotel rooms two to three months prior to departure! Please keep this in mind when making your travel plans.

Passports and Visas

Citizens of the United States must have a passport valid for six months beyond your travel dates with at least two blank facing pages. If you do not have a passport, please apply now!

Activity Level

We rate this trip as Active. Our Active adventures at AdventureWomen get you on your feet! You should be in good physical condition for these trips and comfortable walking on uneven surfaces, such as cobblestone streets, biking well-maintained paths and natural trails, or kayaking in calm waters. Health Considerations

Make an appointment with a travel clinic. There are no immunization requirements for travel to Mexico, however your local travel clinic may have recommendations for you based on your age, health, and past vaccination history.

On this trip, US cash is accepted nearly everywhere. You should have enough money in small bills in US dollars (fives, tens, twenties, and some ones) to leave for tips. Credit cards are accepted in downtown Todos Santos and La Paz.

Forms and Final Payment

The deposit for this trip is $800, and is nonrefundable and nontransferable. Once you book, you will need to fill out and return to AdventureWomen:

Los Colibris Casitas
Los Colibris—The Hummingbirds—is located in Todos Santos, just a ten-minute walk from the area’s beautiful beaches. The property features two big casas (houses) and two casitas (little houses). Each building is configured and decorated in a unique way. The accommodations all include a kitchen or kitchenette with appliances, a dining area, a balcony, porch or patio, ceiling fans, and lovely views of the Pacific Ocean and lagoon.

Glamping on the Beach
You will love your base camp on one of the island’s most beautiful beaches! It features walk-in safari-style tents with twin beds, mattresses, pillows, sheets, and lamps. The accommodations are so comfortable and beautiful that you won’t want to leave. This is glamping (glamorous camping) at its best! There is a kitchen tent where our on-site chef makes wonderful meals for you every day, and there are sun showers and portable toilets in separate sheds.

What to Bring

In March, the weather in Baja is warm during the day with cool evenings. The highs will be in the low to upper 70s, and the lows will be in the lower 50s. You will want layers for evenings on your private island! Dress for this Baja adventure is casual.
