Trip Overview

Kayaking? Snorkeling? Camping under the stars! Over seven beautiful days in 2021, discover the real joy of being active together on this exciting mother-daughter getaway with AdventureWomen under the sun in Baja, Mexico and the Sea of Cortez.

Enjoy a heavenly mix of seaside relaxation combined with activities you’ll love doing together! This is the AdventureWomen way, where a bit of pampering and some big adventures create wonderful moments in the company of other women like you! Get to know your expert Mexican guide, who will help you learn about local traditions and foods, as well as about the local wildlife and the best way to interact with sea lions underwater. You are also accompanied by an AdventureWomen Ambassador, committed to helping make your experience a fun and personally rewarding adventure, and cheering you on as you reach beyond your comfort zone to take on new challenges in your own unique way!

Arriving at Los Colibris Casitas in Todos Santos, take in the incredible ocean views then go explore its terraced landscapes, pools, and quiet spaces reaching down to the sea. In the evening, celebrate the flavors of Baja with a spectacular welcome dinner that makes getting to know the other mothers and daughters in your group easy. The next morning it’s time to make tortillas! With Chef Iker Algorri as your instructor, learn this classic Mexican tradition handed down from mother to daughter. You’re in Baja so, with the cooking done, shake off the cornmeal and head to the beach for expert surfing lessons on Playa Los Cerritos, one of the best surf breaks in Baja. Surfing may become your new favorite sport! If not, maybe you’ll have some tumbles into the water to laugh over later. Next, enjoy the reverse view – the sea from the shore – as you take in the beach beauty on horseback. Meet Chef Iker on the beach to buy the day’s catch right from the boats; tonight everyone learns how to make Punta Lobos Fish Stew and Chef Iker’s perfect margarita!

Motor out the next day to Isla Espiritu Santo in the Sea of Cortez. During the group’s three-night stay, this island is exclusively yours for a private glamping experience where your tent opens right onto a view of the sparkling ocean, and an opportunity to try new water sports. Don’t be shy! Try strolling the island, learn to kayak in the clear waters of this protected bay, and master the stand-up paddle board, then wind down at night counting the millions of stars that swirl overhead. For a truly magical experience, swim with the island’s inquisitive sea lions. You may even have a nose-to-nose encounter!

Return to Todos Santos for a final Baja sunset over a heavenly group dinner where you’ll all swap stories and recall favorite moments on this trip. Then, in a quiet moment, reflect on how your trip to Mexico, from the surfing and sea lions to camping and cooking, was the best possible recipe for quality time.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Todos Santos
Welcome to Baja, AdventureWomen! Bordered by both the wild Pacific Ocean and the protected Sea of Cortez, this finger-like desert peninsula is a haven for exotic plants, birds and animals (both terrestrial and marine) and is home to friendly and welcoming people. Refresh and de-stress the AdventureWomen way, where you share the perfect combination of pampering, mouth-watering meals, and active outdoor adventure with your fellow companions who are as enthusiastic about exploring Baja as you are!

Over your eight days in Baja, you’ll get to know your expert Mexican guide, who will help you learn about local traditions and foods, as well as about the local wildlife and even the best way to interact with sea lions underwater. You are also accompanied by an AdventureWomen Ambassador, committed to helping make your experience a fun and personally rewarding adventure, and cheering you on as you reach beyond your comfort zone to take on new challenges in your own unique way!

You will be picked up at the airport by your guide and transferred to your hotel. You will receive specific instructions on the exact meeting location about a month prior to your trip. The Cabo airport is very busy, but AdventureWomen will make sure you know where you’re going!

Get to know your expert guide from Baja, your AdventureWomen Ambassador, and your fellow travelers over a delicious welcome dinner this evening.

Day 2

Todos Santos
Todos Santos is an undiscovered gem, backdropped by the Sierra la Laguna Mountains and rimmed with gorgeous beaches and lush gardens. It’s an official Pueblo Magico, one of Mexico’s 50 off-the-beaten-path towns known for their “magical ambiance.”

Todos Santos has 70 miles of pristine beach. Take in the beauty of a Baja landscape on horseback. You’ll also get to take a surfing lesson today. No experience? No problem! Your instructors guarantee that you will stand up – at least for a moment – during your very first lesson!

Enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3

Todos Santos to Isla Espiritu Santo
Drive to La Paz, stopping to try on your wet suit and get your snorkeling gear. From La Paz, you will get on a boat for your 60-minute ride to your exclusive camp on the beach. Wear your bathing suit this morning, just in case there is a chance to swim along the way!

Spend your afternoon kayaking or stand up paddle boarding exploring hidden lagoons and desert beaches.

Enjoy sunset happy hour with your group as you sip a cold drink and sit with your toes in the sand.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Overnight: Glamping on the Beach

Day 4

Isla Espiritu Santo
Jacques Cousteau once called the Sea of Cortez “the aquarium of the world” and “the Galápagos of North America.” About 39 percent of the world’s marine mammal species and 70 percent of the world’s marine cetacean species live or migrate through here, making this region one of the planet’s most bio-diverse ecosystems.

Swimming with sea lions is magical, with unforgettable nose-to-nose encounters. Grab some snorkel gear provided and jump in with them.

Enjoy a dinner from the camp kitchen and a relaxing night on the beach. Share stories about your experiences with the curious sea lions earlier today.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Overnight: Glamping on the Beach

Day 5

Isla Espiritu Santo
Espiritu Santo National Park in the Sea of Cortez is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the best marine life viewing destinations in the world. Whales, dolphins, whale sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, and plenty of beautiful tropical fish call the surrounding waters home, while a terrific range of bird species including Blue-footed Boobies, Reddish Egrets, Great Blue Herons, and Yellow-footed Gulls frequent the island’s skies and shores. The island itself is stunning, with magnificent towering cliffs, spectacular sandy bays, amazing lava rock formations, and rock art left by the now-extinct Guaycura and Pericu Indians.

A one- to two-hour hike gets you out on the island to learn about the local flora and fauna on foot. Wear closed-toed shoes – there are cacti around!

Decide how you want to explore the sea just off the coast of Isla Espiritu Santo. Talk to your guides to take out a paddle board, throw on some snorkeling gear, or jump into a kayak. There’s no wrong answer; this water has a way of never disappointing.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Overnight: Glamping on the Beach

Day 6

Isla Espiritu Santo to Todos Santos
Leave your beautiful camp and make your way back to Todos Santos.

Tour the historic parts of Todos Santos. Visit local art galleries and do some last-minute shopping. Take a Mexican cooking class this evening. Start by learning to make the perfect margarita. Make sure you pay attention as you learn from the chef – you are making your own dinner! Reminisce over all the memories you have made and celebrate the end of an incredible trip in Baja.
