Women Traveling Solo Explore the “Natural Side” of India, Ireland, South Africa on 2017 AdventureWomen® Tours

BOZEMAN, MT — Step into the pages of “The Jungle Book” on a tiger safari and exploration through India or cross off your bucket list seeing polar bears on a journey to Canada’s Arctic on one of 10 new adventure tours that AdventureWomen® will offer women in 2017. NEW! Intoxicating South Africa: Culture, Scenery, Winelands and Wildlife

July 30 – Aug. 11, 2017

This two-week trip combines wildlife viewing with wine tasting. Watch for sightings of southern right whales, dolphins, cape fur seals and a variety of seabirds, kayak to meet a colony of penguins, and visit Table Mountain and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Travelers will explore the South African Wine Route, stopping at a variety of wineries and spend five days in Timbavati Private Nature Reserve and Sabi Sands Game Reserve adjacent to Kruger National Park, spotting big cats, elephant, buffalo, rhino and more.

March 14 – 26, 2017

Step inside Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book” on this exploration through the wilds of India among ancient artifacts, lush nature reserves and the largest wildlife sanctuary in Asia. The trip includes visits to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the temples of Khajuraho, the holy city of Varanasi, the River Ganges and Delhi.

NEW! The Islands of Indonesia : Culture, Beaches, Orangutans, & Dragons

June 3-17, 2017

Island hop in Indonesia on this adventure tour that leads visitors to Tanjung Puting Wildlife Reserve, the rainforest and Komodo National Park, home to the world’s largest monitor lizard, the Komodo dragon. At the famed Camp Leaky, women will look for orangutans, proboscis monkeys and gibbon, even visiting an orangutan orphanage. Other highlights include a visit to the Island of Java to see the world’s largest Buddha site, a stay in the arts capital of Ubud on Bali, where women will be instructed in Balinese cooking and go whitewater rafting, and the trip’s conclusion at a Balinese beach resort.

Journey to rarely-visited Baffin Island in Canada’s Arctic region during the summer season of the midnight sun, staying at a comfortable safari-style base camp near Auyuittuq National Park. Cruise on small craft boats to discover polar bears, bowhead whales and endless icebergs surrounded by mountain peaks and ancient Thule dwelling sites.

Along the way, see sheep and ponies, catch glimpses of the rare red deer and explore Franciscan abbeys and Druid stone circles.

August 6 -12, 2017

Traverse beautiful British Columbia on trails by foot, horseback and mountain bike, looking for black and brown bears, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, moose, weasel, and wapiti (elk). Hike the spectacular French countryside along the Loire River past chateaus, castles, churches and vineyards, stopping along the way to taste the region’s famous wines.

AdventureWomen® will be traveling to Iceland again in 2017 for their 10th visit to the country. The company’s Iceland Horseback Riding was selected as a 2013 National Geographic Tour of a Lifetime. The 2017 Iceland Discovery Adventure will focus on more of the country’s adventurous outdoor activities. AdventureWomen® will also return to Nepal to support tourism in the region and provide women with a low-altitude hike of the Himalayas.

NEW! Classic Mainland Greece & the Island of Naxos

Sept. 12 – 23, 2017

This AdventureWomen® trip explores mainland Greece to see the ancient structures in Athens and Delphi, Mount Pelion, which was made famous in the movie “Mama Mia!”, as well as a stay on the lesser-known island of Naxos. On the island, women will take a Greek cooking class, hike, visit villages and historic sites, take a full-day boating excursion to nearby islands and enjoy bountiful Greek food.

Other AdventureWomen® trips for 2017 include a trip to Egypt and Jordan’s Petra, a destination for which the company is seeing growing interest, as well as Peru to explore Machu Picchu, Cuzco and Lake Titicaca.
