August 24 – 31, 2012
The best laid plans…. have been changed. VERY unfortunately, our French barge in Alsace-Lorraine developed catastrophic engine failure, and has been taken out of service. Being the centerpiece of our 30th anniversary celebration, needless to say it is extremely disappointing to me, and to others who can no longer go due to the changed dates.
But the GOOD NEWS is that we can still do the trip! The dates have been changed to August 24-31, a week prior to the original dates, and the canal is the famous Burgundy Canal. The boat is as beautiful as our original boat. Food is of course fantastic, as is the crew, scenery and activities on this canal. We've previously done both of these wonderful trips. The only reason I was originally doing Alsace-Lorraine was because our last barge trip was in Burgundy, and I wanted to alternate this to the "other" canal. There are now spaces available!

October 5 – 16, 2012

Due to Greece's recent financial and political difficulties, many of you are reluctant to register for this wonderful adventure in Greece. You shouldn't be, and here's why.
The following is feedback and comments from many people who went to Greece this past year with the wonderful company I work with, DURING the strikes and demonstrations:
"You have to keep in mind that the media ONLY shows you the worst of everything, and it was ONLY in a small area of downtown Athens where the Greeks were demonstrating to the Greek Parliament. Just 2 blocks away, you would be completely unaware that anything was happening. The places we go in the countryside do NOT have things like this going on."
"You can let inquiring minds know that we have walked all over central Athens over the past 3 days with our 3 children and have never once felt unsafe or threatened. The demonstrations and austerity measures are a subject of much conversation, but as far as I can tell, the action is largely peaceful and contained to a well defined area. I would have no reservations recommending that people visit this enchanting country."
"Very much appreciated the oversight to detail, considering the complexity of planning that was necessary… . [Your company] never left us feeling uncertain that our trip could fall apart. Great tour guides, hotels, and transportation arrangements."
Another Reason to Go: Price of trip has gone down $650!!
Since we priced this trip in EUROS (3,728), the EURO has weakened and the price of this trip in US Dollars has gone DOWN. The original price was $5,395 in September 2011, but it is now $4,745 US Dollars, or $650 LESS than it's original price!! For the quality of this trip, it's an amazing deal.

"I have spent much time thinking and reliving this wonderful adventure [Nepal Himalaya Trek 2011]. It was a memorable, life-changing experience... Sharing hiking, floating, and elephant riding, surrounded by beautiful scenery and an endearing culture, with such a fabulous group of women, is all anyone could ask for!"
"I just wanted to let you know that I am still an AdventureWomen fan even though I haven't taken a trip in quite a while. The last trip I took was rafting in Chile (Futaleufu River Whitewater Raft Adventure), which I count as one of the greatest adventures of my life! Even my son-in-law brags to people about me doing this! Congratulations on your 30th year."
"I just had to write and congratulate you on your successful 30 years. I have so enjoyed all my travels with you and have very fond memories of each trip. Thank you!"
"Happy 30th anniversary! My [son], 9 months old when I took my first trip with you, just graduated with a master's degree in engineering. I always came with my mother-in-law [now 84]. Our adventure trips are a big part of her memory. Know that I think of you often and all the once-in-a-lifetime trips we did together. I have never had more fun than on those trips."
"The best part of AdventureWomen is the whole concept of women traveling alone or with another woman friend, the opportunity to make new friends, and at the same time to explore new cultures and horizons. You have done a great job of planning trips that are "dream destinations."

July 14-20 is the perfect time to be on Montana's Wild West Sampler.
From our favorite guest ranch near Yellowstone National Park and hosted in AdventureWomen's own back yard, try it ALL the exciting activities that Montana has to offer: whitewater raft, horseback ride, hike, zipline and fly fish in "The Last Best Place."
If you love to horseback ride, anyone from beginner to advanced will LOVE our Horsepacking in Banff National Park, Canada from July 28 - Aug. 3, which features wilderness landscapes the likes of which Billy Crystal (of "City Slickers" fame) never would have believed.
From August 4 -11, experience "Hiking Magic" in Glacier National Park, recognized as one of the most outstanding wilderness parks in the world. You'll hike through sculptured glacial valleys, past mirrored lakes and in colorful alpine meadows, all prime habitat for prolific wildlife, while staying in historic park lodges.
Besides the French Barge trip, we have two other amazing European trips in Italy and Poland as part of AdventureWomen's 30th Anniversary Celebration:
August 22 - 30 brings us on one of our all-time favorite hiking trips in Italy, Hiking in the Italian Alps: Discover the Dolomites. Magnificent alpine hiking with our Italian-based guide is in itself a celebration!
Poland Culinary, Culture and Hiking from September 8-15 is our NEW adventure in Eastern Europe, highlighting "agritourism", where participants enjoy culture, hiking and hands-on Polish cooking lessons using fresh and local ingredients, in the intimacy of local farms, homes, and urban cooking schools.
These two trips are beautifully custom-designed just for AdventureWomen!
The Himalayan Gates of Heaven beckon on our Nepal Lodge Trek, Oct. 24 – Nov. 8. This spectacular and popular lodge-based adventure is a unique combination of low altitude hiking, cultural interaction, whitewater rafting, and Nepal’s southern Terai country, where we ride elephants in Chitwan National Park, the world’s finest Bengal Tiger habitat.
Baja Sea Kayaking, Sea of Cortez, Oct. 27 – Nov. 2.
Paddle in warm and gentle waters to beautiful bays, bird watch, snorkel with sea lions, hike canyons adorned with hanging wild figs and enjoy a comfortable “safari-style” Baja beach camp, with fresh American and authentic Mexican cuisine. The perfect antidote for your pre-winter, pre-holiday rush.
